Mariellen received her bachelor's of science degree in communication disorders from Middle Tennessee State University and her master's degree in communication disorders from Arkansas State University. Mariellen has over 17 years of experience working with individuals of all ages in home health, early intervention, hospitals, and public schools. She has also supervised graduate students from a variety of universities across the country and held the lead Speech Language Pathologist role for a school district. She holds a Texas state license along with a Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Mariellen always knew at an early age she would have a career that helped others. She fell into speech language pathology when she was in college and had to receive voice therapy due to an injury to her vocal cords from overuse with singing. With over a decade of experience serving individuals with all types of communication challenges, Mariellen specializes in intervention for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), articulation, motor speech disorders, fluency, analytic receptive and expressive language delays, natural language acquisition, and social skills. Mariellen knows without a doubt that she is doing what God created her to do.
When she became a mother she became a better therapist and advocate for children. When first meeting her she leads with authentic conversations and education to create a space of respect and collaboration. Collaboration with families not only enhances the child's success, but success for the entire family. She is dedicated to empowering parents with tools to support their child's development and to advocate for their child in all situations.
